Since 1823, the Norton Pike companys roots began when a New Hampshire farmer discovered that stones in his pasture were really good at sharpening his scythes and axes. The Mica Schist deposits on his land became the foundation for the Pike company, making commercial natural sharpening stones across North America. Quarried from the novaculite deposits near Hot Springs, AR, the stones soon replaced Mica Schist and have set the benchmark for quality. The Norton abrasives company who had worked closely with Pike stones eventually purchased the Pike company and it continues to flourish through its range of high quality sharpening stones. These days, the Norton Pike company manufactures more than 6400 products. Over 175 years have passed, and Norton Pike have become legendary for anybody who requires premium grade sharpening stones. 16 to choose from.
