For many centuries the Scottish highlanders fought with the English and their swords were all empowering, striking fear direct into the hearts of the English warriors. With double edged blades and intriguing basket hilt made it a force to be reckoned with.
Cold Steel decided to enter the foray with this, their own interpretation, and it really is a great looking sword that has gotten fans talking excitedly about. Suitable for display or for re-enactments if used with care (it is very sharp!).
Cold Steel have hand forged the 1055 Carbon steel to create the double edged blade, and then have beautifully polished it with triple fullers. The handle is Blued steel which also has a wood grip section that has been covered in ray skin (same) before being wrapped in wire.
Each Cold Steel broad sword is made to pass the tough British proof test and comes with it's own wood and leather scabbard complemented by Blue steel on the chape and throat.
Overall, this truly imposing CS88SB Cold Steel Scottish sword weighs a mighty 47.8oz! It has a broad 7/32 inch thick blade that is also 31.5 inches in length. The handle section measures around 6.25 inches.
