A fresh and vibrant coloring and tough Swedish design makes this the perfect knife for an epic expedition of any description. Whether you've got vegetables to prepare or game to hunt or things to cut this knife will happily stand up and assume the role.
The knife has a fresh stacked leather handle which offers a really nice look and a good comfortable grip that really feels nice in the hand. It feels as though it was meant for the hand, rather than a firm plastic handle. There are some colored bands of leather in there to add a touch of class to the overall design anyway.
The handle is further complemented by an Aluminum butt with lanyard hole in it. The butt is great for dishing out quick sharp blows that will stun any game immediately, or can simply be sued to crush items you are mixing in a bowl, A whole myriad of uses, one great knife time and time again.
At the other end of the handle is a stainless steel guard that helps to keep your hand firmly on the handle, and preventing it from sliding down onto the sharp blade during use. When all you want to do is concentrate on the task in hand you'll be pleased a good guard is in place. It's one of those little things you take for granted yet couldn't do without.
The blade is super tough VG-10 grade stainless steel that is honed to a razor sharp plain edge for perfect precise slices and cuts time and time again. The steel is heat treated so it eventually generates a nice tough Rockwell hardness rating of 59 HRC. The steel is also laminated for further longevity and use.
Overall this is a very nice looking and performing knife. The overall length of the Fallkniven Idun FNNL5 Northern Light Series knife is 8 ½ inches while the length of the blade is 4 inches. It comes complete with a handsome Brown leather belt sheath for safe storage. 8.5" overall. 4" convex edge laminate VG-10 stainless blade. Stacked leather handle. Stainless guard and aluminum pommel.
