The rough riders were the very first voluntary cavalry to be put into action by president Roosevelt in 1898. These were ordinary men who willingly wanted to fight for their country and it is their courage that is remembered most. These rough rider knives are a superb collection of knives that pay tribute to the bravest men in American history.
It is a knife that measures 2 ¾ inches in length, when each of the two blades are closed. This makes it perfect for every day pocket carry. The handle is a sumptuous Red jigged bone that has the Rough Riders horseshoe logo on it. Nickel Silver bolsters sit at either end.
There are two blades, a spear blade and a pen blade. Both are made using 440 stainless steel. The larger spear blade features an etching of the Rough Riders logo, and the wording : “Always Ready!” and a nail groove is cut into the blade. The groove is also notched for easy retraction of the blade when it is required.
A signature scripted version of the rough riders name is tang stamped into the blade tang near to the pivot.
