These Barber Half Dollars are all dated 1892-1916 and contain 90% silver. These coins were minted by the U.S. Mint and are named after their designer, Charles Barber. Barber worked at the U.S. Mint and was ordered to design these coins after a competition for the design turned up empty. Since the silver content of these coins is 90% they have long passed their face value and have both melt and numismatic worth. The Barber Half Dollar is highly collectible amount coin dealers and survivalists.
