The D.A.R.T.-002 is a knife designed by Trace Rinaldi. He interviewed numerous field operatives who had the best experience to say what and what should not be included. These included the likes of Snipers and HRT (Hostage Rescue team members.
The knife is made from 5160 grade stainless steel. The 3 1/16 inch thick drop-point blade shape includes a recurved belly and a blade that tilts down making it perfect for chopping in confined spaces. The 7 inch blade also enjoys a Rockwell hardness rating of 58-60 HRC. The cutting edge measures 6 ½ inches and has a Black traction coating.
The 5 ¾ inch handle is clad with Black linen Micarta and has a lanyard hoop at the end which doubles up as a useful pommel too. You'll notice that you can adopt a few different grip styles as there is a ridged section on the spin for forward thumb grips giving you greater control and a more traditional grip for chopping duties.
Coming with a ballistic Nylon sheath, the Tops D.A.R.T. 002 knife is proudly hand crafted in the USA and weighs a hefty 15.2 oz.
